JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Division of Nephrology seeks an academic Associate or Assistant Professor, on the Clinical Health Services (CHS) track to join our team. This physician will be expected to provide coverage of Nephrology Division inpatient and consultative transplant hospital services, participate in at least 3 half days of transplant clinic per week and one outreach day per month at UW Health approved locations, and perform kidney transplant biopsies. The incumbent will participate in teaching learners in some or all of the Department of Medicine, Nephrology Division continuing professional education, fellowship program activities, internal medicine residency experiences in nephrology, and medical school courses and clinical experiences. Research responsibilities will include engaging in active collaborative clinical research on multi-disciplinary projects, and this physician will be encouraged to apply to obtain internal and/or extramural funding to support research endeavors. Interest in the area of health care disparities in kidney and/or pancreas transplantation is preferred. University and community service will be expected as appropriate. Appointment at the associate professor rank may include leadership participation at the division and/or department level. Clinical responsibilities: 70-80%; Academic responsibilities: 20-30%.
