MADISON COUNTY Dispatcher-Full Time in Madisonville, Texas

Dispatcher Job Summary: Receives and dispatches calls for the Sheriffs Department and other Law Enforcement Agencies, and from the general public in response to emergency and non-emergency matters, aids in duties of the jail section when needed, does criminal background checks, records all communications, and is responsible for record keeping in general. Basic Qualifications: This is a position requiring some physical labor and able to lift at least 50 pounds. Individual must be able to pass a drug test, be at least 18 years of age, and have a current Drivers License. Individuals must have a clear criminal history. GED High School Diploma required. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and be able to work shift work. Examples of Job Duties: Interacting with the public in a professional manner. The primary duty is to answer calls and relay requests for assistance to appropriate personnel. Answering 9-1-1 calls, dispatching calls over the radio and other duties as assigned. Benefits and Compensation: Medical, dental, vision and life coverage are provided for the employee and paid by the County after 90 days of full-time employment. Sick leave, bonus leave, compensation leave, vacation leave, and holiday time provided. Annual cost of living raise, and longevity pay. Starting pay is \$15.33/hr. Shift includes 12-hour shifts with every other Friday-Sunday off.
