The Opportunity

We are looking for a versatile individual to join us as a Senior Counsel and Compliance Officer at Aon Philippines, offering you a real opportunity to further develop your capabilities.

As a member of the Aon Asia Regional Legal and Regional Compliance department, you will be dedicated to servicing the legal and compliance needs of Aon’s business in the Philippines. Role will be required to help the business manage legal and compliance risks in a practical and business focused manner. The Senior Counsel and Compliance Officer will be responsible for identifying, reviewing and advising on key legal and compliance matters relating to the effective running of the business.

What the Day will look like

  • Service the Philippine operations of the Aon Group, and provide legal and compliance support to Aon Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Philippines Inc.

  • Sit within the Aon Asia Regional Legal and Compliance (L&C) team and report directly to the Asia Compliance in Singapore with a matrix reporting to Asia Legal.

  • Requires close day-to day-interaction with the business leaders and teams in the Philippines.

  • Lead the legal and compliance function in the Philippines.

  • Ensure professional, independent, and consistent legal, regulatory, compliance and governance advice, to help drive the business’ commercial goals, and minimize legal, regulatory and reputational risk.

  • Actively contribute as a member of the Aon Asia L&C team.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Licensed Lawyer, Philippines.

  • More than eight (8) years relevant corporate legal experience.

  • A generalist with a proven ability to manage legal projects and skills emphasis towards corporate/commercial work such as commercial contracts and advising on new business initiatives.

  • Experience within the insurance/financial services industry preferred.

  • Ability to work as an integral part of a regional team, fostering teamwork and cultivating relationships, as well as work independently and take the initiative where necessary.

  • Conscientiousness and good attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

  • Critical and innovative thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated and responsible, with high level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Adaptability – quick learner.

  • Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills.

  • Language skills: excellent command of English and Filipino (verbal and written).
