GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director of Store Design is responsible for leading and managing the store design process for new business initiative prototypes, flagships and high profile store environment projects that are consistent with the Luxottica Group programs brand Strategies. The Director collaborates with construction, engineering team and other internal and external clients, pitches design concepts and understands the needs of the brands. The Director is the creative leader responsible for creating store designs for each brand, designing custom fixtures, recruiting/sourcing/managing third party design or fabrication firms, as well as internal design resources to ensure all KPI are met of on time delivery, within budget and to a high standard of Quality.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generates multiple design concepts and solutions for stores including store layouts, storefronts and interiors.

  • Responsible for multiple project management from conceptualization, hand off for implementation and provides design support during construction.

  • Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of required deliverables, driving ideas and processes closure.

  • Provides quality control over design concepts and projects.

  • Develops and manages the project schedule through all phases of design.

  • Leads design reviews with Executive Leadership and Brand Partners.

  • Collaborates with Construction to manage budgets and schedules on all projects.

  • Continually works to find creative cost savings in design of stores.

  • Develops and manages the project schedule through all phases of design.

  • Manages architect consultants in the production of Design Development and Construction Drawings to ensure coordination and implementation of design standards.

  • Participates in performance evaluations for all architects, engineers, constructions and projects coordinators.

  • Leads strategic design for the retail environment that upholds and maintains the essence of the brand.

  • Leads relationship between Luxottica Retail Brands brand and Store Development.

  • Partners with Procurement for smart sourcing and identifying and managing business partners.

  • Establishes and maintains industry connections through relationships and attendance of conferences and industry functions.

  • Takes fiscal responsibility for Design-to-Cost solutions for retail programs ranging from rollouts to remodels to new store prototypes.

  • Leads project meetings with brand partners, designers and outside agencies.

  • Drives post mortem on projects for closure and learning.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Design or Architecture

  • 8+ years retail design experience

  • 5+ years experience leading creative professionals

  • Project Management experience

  • Highly technical design skills

  • Flexibility & creative problem solving

  • Very strong analytical, modeling, and communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced dynamic environment

  • Excellent prioritization skills with clear focus on results

  • Ability to interpret analytical findings into relevant, actionable and understandable business insights and actions

  • Ability to combine strategic vision with everyday tactical detail and a strong urge for action

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation drawings) to present design concepts to gain alignment and all necessary brand partner approvals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Adobe Creative Suite experience

  • AutoCAD experience

​Pay Range: 113,540.82 - 200,625.37

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
