MARSHFIELD AREA YMCA INC Summer Day Camp Counselor in MARSHFIELD, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervises the children during all activities while creating a positive environment for everyone. Assists in program requirements which include: knowing whereabouts for all children enrolled, assist in applying sunscreen, provide water breaks, utilizing first aid when necessary, and recording all medical incidents. Has initiative and the ability to work independently, but has the capability to collaborate with other camp staff to provide activities during unplanned time frames. Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, co-workers, Summer Day Camp Assistant Director and Youth Engagement Program Director. Manage stressful situations in a positive manner. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS: At least 18 years of age. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
