About the role:

ZF Axle Drives Marysville, LLC., a Tier One manufacturer for the automotive industry, has an immediate opening in their Marysville, MI plant for a Human Resources Intern. This internship is an in-plant position. This internship is a great opportunity for current students or recent graduates with little or no experience.

What you can look forward to:

  • Visible presence at HR welcome desk and represent HR for initial employee questions/concerns

  • Manage visitor and employee traffic for other HR employees

  • Manage HR correspondence including phone calls and voicemail

  • Maintain grievance files and grievance log

  • Prepare and mail out monthly employee birthday cards

  • Manage recognition programs

  • Create welcome and promotional slides for new hires and internal promotions

  • Assist with orientation

  • Administer on-site programs/events and encourage employees to participate.

  • Participate in HR staff meetings and attend other meetings as needed.

  • Participate in all HR sponsored events.

  • Support Talent Acquisition/Recruiting with paperwork, interview scheduling, etc.

  • Support miscellaneous paperwork completion

  • Coordinate intern program including job postings, resume screening, candidate identification, interviewing and completing offers.

  • Manage employee badges and corresponding badge system to include regular access audits

  • Maintain employee phone lists, training logs/records, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), SharePoint site and other plant references/resources

  • Maintain supervisor assignment sheet

  • Supports HR Generalists and Payroll

  • Scan and file paperwork appropriately

  • Support timeclock entry and problem resolution.

  • Other Duties as assigned.

Your profile:

  • Pursuing Bachelor Degree in Human Resources

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Customer service attitude

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent computer skills and must be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Required to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 35 pounds. May frequently need to lift up to 10 pounds.

  • Must be able to occasionally climb stairs, lift, pull, push, reach above shoulder level, reach forward, carry, bend, twist or stoop.

  • Environmental exposures may include dust, fumes, odors, and loud noises.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee will be in an office environment with frequent exposure to a manufacturing atmosphere.
