Trinity Health Senior Financial Analyst - Finance - Full Time - Days in Mason City, Iowa

Position Purpose:

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis and forecasting for the operations and capital plan. Provides education to customers, explains variances to stakeholders, and assistance to leaders to develop back to budget/forecast plans.

What you will Do:

  • Accountable for the development, review, implementation, coordination, system maintenance, and reporting of forecast, ad-hoc financial analysis, local financial reporting.

  • Identifies and implements improvements to enhance the organization’s forecasting and planning systems. Coordinates and enhances internal reporting from these systems – and associated transactional source systems – to assist management in decision making with a focus on bottom-line performance improvement.

  • Formulates and provides analyses to department leaders within ministry. Provides input on departmental operations as well as identifies potential areas for integrating processes to improve overall operations and financial reporting.

  • Initiates and develops policies and procedures for various aspects of the financial planning process.

  • Assists department leaders in developing forecasts focused on resource management including planning and allocation of human resources, capital expenditures, and operating expenses. Understands and provides analysis for various strategic and operational scenarios and potential impacts on financial position and key performance measures.

  • Assists with the preparation of departmental financial presentations. Participates in development and delivery of leadership review packages.

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time, (40) hours / week.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

  • MBA, MHA, or CPA desired.

  • Minimum of five years of progressively challenging experience in healthcare finance/accounting required.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Effective communication skills to all customers.

  • Experience in researching and analyzing complex financial/operational issues.

  • Demonstrates project management skills to successfully manage large scale projects.

  • Highly skilled use of systems that aid in analysis, communication, presentation, financial reporting to customers with differing levels of financial acumen.

  • Demonstrates a process improvement mindset by going to Gemba, problem solving to root cause, developing standard work, etc.
