You Are: The Sr. COBOL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and testing solutions on the AS400 platform for various project deliverables. They would lead system analysis and design sessions in collaboration with business and operational analysts across various functional areas. The candidate would participate across all areas of the Software Development Life Cycle including defect resolution, deployment and postproduction support. The Opportunity: Analyze, design, develop & implement changes to the AS400 application platform. Participate in the evaluation, build, testing, and implementation of new products and the modification of existing products. Define and propose solutions for enhancements and system changes. Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. Estimate development tasks, define work efforts and timelines and provide project status. Work with testers and business teams to triage defects and ensure changes are migrated into production correctly. Participate in Agile/Scrum activities (sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily sprint meetings). Provide on-going production support for the AS400 application platform. Perform tasks regarding change control, incident management, and audit. Support SOX and IT Security guidelines to ensure all systems are kept in compliance. Create and update the appropriate system documentation. This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required. What you need: Programming languages skills Agile - Scrum or Kanban Methods Knowledge of customer domain and sub-domain where problem is solved. Knowledge of new technologies (e.g., Data science, AI/ML, IoT, big data, and cloud platform, etc. RDBMS and NOSQL Deep knowledge of architecting solutions and applications on cloud-based infrastructures Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by local law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York or Washington as set forth below. Role Location: Remote Compensation Range: $97,000-$145,000 Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits.
