Synectics, Inc. Strategic Sourcing Analyst in Mayfield Heights, Ohio

Description:

  • Leading the data management and quantitative analyses of sourcing activities within the Strategic Sourcing Organization (SSO).

  • The Analyst will be included in the strategic sourcing process as they will be required to work on complex problems requiring the creation of analytical tools, data analysis, and recommendations/solutions to problems.

  • The Analyst will need to manage multiple priorities to meet reporting/project timelines.

  • Create insightful data for stakeholders.

  • The analyst leads the process design for the collection and analyses of several data sets for the assigned commodities / services.

  • Designs, conducts, and synthesizes insightful industry and market research for assigned commodities to help develop sourcing strategy.

  • Supports all financial and performance reporting for SSO.

  • Develop an expertise in the strategic sourcing process

  • The analyst participates in the sourcing strategy formulation, supplier selection and supplier management process led by the Commodity Owner.

  • Teams with Commodity Project Managers / Subject Matter Experts (engineering, marketing, quality, etc.) to create commodity / services sourcing strategies.

  • Coordinates requests for quotation (RFQ), creates and administers negotiation tools and processes for sourcing activities, prepares fact base for supplier negotiations and business reviews.

  • Analyzes historical and future spend/savings by commodity/business units/locations.

  • Analyzes and reports on supplier performance metrics and conducts benchmarking studies.

  • Supports other Commodity related activities to ensure success of all stakeholders.

  • Understanding of supply chain and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction opportunities.

  • Participates in internal and joint supplier/unit teams pursuing TCO reduction opportunities in alignment with the Sourcing strategy (e.g. lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, improving supplier operations, demand management etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or other relevant area.

  • A minimum of two years professional experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, analytics, or relevant field.

  • Should be familiar with the different supply chain models.

``` - Highly desirable skillset/experience using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform to create these new tools/solutions. These solutions will include development, documentation, and delivery of repeatable processes to meet stakeholder requirements.

  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and root causal analysis skills required.

  • Must be able to manipulate data, summarize findings, and investigate root cause.

  • Attention to detail and verification of data/solutions.

  • Must be able to verify the accuracy, logic, and plausibility of data/solutions.

  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple projects/tasks with high degree of accuracy and detail.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate to management, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Excel.

  • General knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote)

Preferred Qualifications

Analytical experience combining multiple large datasets into a comprehensive solution. This would ideally contain expertise in MS Power Query, MS Power BI, MS Access, any SQL language (MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc..), or other mass data combination tools outside of Excel.
