Description of Work
This is a clerical position located in the Marion Resident/ District Engineer's Office. Duties include, answering multiline phone system and directing calls to proper person(s); processing various monthly reports in SAP and Excel; maintaining and ordering inventory and supplies; processing weekly payroll; processing invoices for payment and other general office duties as assigned by the Resident and District Engineers. The typical work schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This position also requires work during any adverse weather, such as snow and/or ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc., which can lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Qualified applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:
Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues.
Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access, Word, and Excel.
Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports.
Experience in record keeping.
Experience with letter writing, using correct spelling, punctuation, and proofreading.
Additional Expectations:
Must have a demonstrated ability to provide customer service to the general public in person and by telephone. Must have demonstrated abilities compiling, verifying, and completing documents. Must have a demonstrated ability to identify problems and provide resolution. Must have a thorough knowledge of office machines, such as, computers, software, etc.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
