The Electrical Engineering Function is responsible for the design, test, manufacture, and support of advanced electrical subsystems (target detection, target tracking, guidance, navigation, signal processing, and communication) to be utilized in extreme battle-field environments. The Multi-Function Products Department, a part of the Electrical Engineering Function, is currently searching for 2025 Summer Interns.

What You Will Do

All interns will work within a larger team at Raytheon. Intern assignments will include one or more elements from the following:

  • FPGA development in VHDL

  • FPGA verification

  • Designing circuits

  • Testing electronic hardware

  • Operating and automating test equipment in a lab environment

  • Analyzing, modeling, and simulating electronic designs

  • Component selection for electronic designs

  • Layout and routing support of printed circuit boards

What You Will Learn

Interns perform meaningful engineering tasks for their assigned projects but will also have access to a variety of career development opportunities. These include access to technical mentors and the ability to “shadow” experienced professionals to better learn about real industry positions.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Junior year by the start of summer 2025.

  • Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: digital circuit design, circuit analysis, VHDL or Verilog coding, power electronics, electromagnetics, linear controls, analog design, or control theory.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures.

  • Experience with test equipment, test automation scripting, test conduction, sensor control.

  • Lab experience with hardware/software integration.

  • Demonstrated experience with VHDL or Verilog coding, simulation, and synthesis.

  • Knowledge of electrical circuit design, analysis and troubleshooting using common lab equipment.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
