Leidos Wellness Event Coordinator – Occupational Health & Wellness Expert in McLean, Virginia
The Leidos Intelligence Group has an openings for an experienced and cleared Health, Fitness, and Wellness Expert support a Federal Intelligence Community customer’s occupational health and wellness program. The Wellness Event Coordinator will work at a Federal site in Northern Virginia as part of a team working to create, implement, and lead a variety of health, wellness, and fitness programs to the Federal client’s workforce. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team focused on keeping our Federal workforce healthy, fit, and ready for duty.
Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance
The contractor Wellness Event Coordinator will provide program and event management for the government’s fitness and wellness related programs. This includes coordinating with government stakeholders to plan, oversee, and execute a comprehensive fitness and wellness program consistent with industry standards and in alignment with government goals and standards.
The Wellness Event Coordinator’s responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Identifying opportunities to integrate wellness and fitness into the enterprise culture
Developing, planning, and executing annual wellness events
Coordinating with client management regarding support and resource needs for events
Providing financial tracking and recommendations for annual wellness events and group exercise programs
Managing and coordinating a balanced group fitness program that meets the needs of the enterprise population and follows industry trends
Managing a team of group exercise instructors, coordinating schedules, tracking data, ensuring certifications remain valid, and maintaining consistency in class coverage
Evaluating equipment needs, instructors, and class formats for safety and alignment with industry and government standards
Assisting in the development of fitness and wellness related workshops, and serving as instructor or administrator as needed
Collaborating with government management and stakeholders to drive engagement in fitness and wellness activities
Planning, assisting with the management of, and evaluating fitness, health, and wellness programs
Organizing volunteers for events and coordinating support personnel as needed, and providing training to support personnel and volunteers as needed
Developing and executing internal marketing strategies for health, fitness, and wellness programs to increase workforce participation
Contributing to the development of newsletters, correspondence, and reports
Serving as lead POC for the Wellness Newsletter
Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for programs and events
Other duties as assigned
Active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Health Promotion, or another related Exercise Science and 5+ years of related practical experience, or 10+ years of related practical experience without a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science
Active certification from at least one of the following is required:
American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
American Council on Exercise (ACE)
National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
Additional equivalent certification in the field of health and fitness may be accepted with review
Active CPR and AED certification
Ability to instruct safe and effective multi-level group exercise classes in a variety of formats and activities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment
