Your Role – Impactful, Meaningful and Future-Oriented

The Technical Support Engineer will work within customer offices and depots, providing a direct link between the customer and Siemens in all aspects of Siemens Tram systems performance, reliability, and enhancements. This role requires a highly skilled individual with extensive experience in the rail industry, particularly in the design and maintenance of Combino trams.

Your responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Investigate faults assigned to the Technical Support Engineer using technical guidance, advisory, and support from the OEM.

  • Provide technical assistance with troubleshooting beyond the normal scope of routine maintenance.

  • Assist in commissioning of major component replacements, overhauls, and major repairs as requested by the customer.

  • Provide training and technical guidance in an advisory capacity to customer staff for maintenance, including on-the-job training, troubleshooting, materials recommendation, tooling recommendations, and safety procedures.

  • Support the rollout of approved fleet software upgrades.

  • Attend monthly conference calls between senior customer representatives and the Siemens Engineering team covering all aspects of tram reliability and performance.

Your qualifications and skills to create a better tomorrow.

  • Relevant Engineering qualification with at least 10 years of Service Engineering experience in the rail industry.

  • Comprehensive skills in both the electrical and mechanical aspects of Combino tram design, specializing in a mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems and control discipline.

  • Demonstrated capabilities in troubleshooting difficult problems and implementing long-term solutions.

  • Working knowledge of the latest Siemens technologies.
