Job Description

Tester-is responsible for mechanical and/or electrical testing of material, devices, and products to ensure the products perform their required functions in a satisfactory manner according to BK Technologies test procedures and Minimal Performance Specifications (MPS).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform product level and PCBA tests according to BK procedures during the production cycle as directed by production Leads and Supervisor.

  • Records and maintains test data as required, according to the test instruction.

  • Assists in calibration and maintenance of test stations and equipment to ensure safety and operational effectiveness.

  • Supports the development and upkeep of procedures and work instructions.

  • Identifies trends in test results and escalates issues to management.

  • Uses Test Equipment including BK Automated Test process, an Oscilloscope, and DMM (Digital Multi Meter) to verify equipment functionality and performance.

  • Supports process and equipment continuous improvement activities.

  • Works in a safe manner and addresses unsafe conditions; maintains an organized work area by performing daily 5S.

  • Flexibility to perform other duties as required (including basic mechanical assembly and visual inspection processes) to support operational requirements.

  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required; perform additional duties assigned by Supervisor.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office required.

  • Lean Manufacturing (or Six Sigma) experience is a plus.

  • Proper working knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge).

  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Good analytical skills and problem solving.

  • Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Able to work independently (with limited guidance) and as part of a team.

  • Confidentiality and time management.

  • Use basic hand tools and battery-operated tools.

  • Maintain and repair small tools and equipment.

  • Knowledge of advanced quality problem solving and analysis techniques used in performing Root Cause Analysis.

  • Basic soldering and mechanical assembly skills are a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school or trade school diploma.

  • Experience: minimum two (2) years- related experience.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Work typically takes place in a normal factory and office environment requiring: walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, hearing, and

o Lifting - frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds

o Vision - specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

o Handling - test equipment, large/small tools, radios, parts, keyboard manipulation

o Walking/standing for long periods of time

o Able to use standard tools

o Able to climb ladders

o Talking - communicate trouble shooting problems

  • Operate a PC and other maintenance equipment

  • Travel between floors and office buildings may be required

  • Frequently exposed to conditions such as fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise, vibration, oils, solvents, and chemicals

  • Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme outside weather conditions
