Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal / Senior Principal Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL .

In this role, you will work in a diverse Science and Technology Mission Engineering-focused environment. You will have the opportunity to become a subject matter expert on operational capabilities that support the overall mission space. While working in a team environment, the ideal candidate will have the ability to take ownership of challenging problems, drive them to a solution, and provide leadership for implementing the solution. Excellent communication skills are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with internal business partners to gather requirements, develop prototype models, and architect solutions in support of various System of Systems activities
Understand the various aspects of the entire development life cycle of complex DoD aircraft.
Support specific areas in the full life cycle of engineering development, to include requirements development, modeling and simulation, verification and validation (V&V) activities, etc.
Analyze both simulated and live flight data results and metrics to assess overall mission effectiveness associated with current and future operational capability improvements
Apply technical expertise in solving complex integration challenges.

Basic Qualifications (Principal):
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company
Must have general knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
Must have basic level programming skills in MATLAB
Basic Qualifications (Senior Principal):
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company
Must have general knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems

Preferred Qualifications:
Programming experience in Python
Ability to obtain and Maintain TS/SCI Clearance
Minimum 5 years of experience in radar specific modeling or radar engineering fields
Extensive experience modeling or designing passive RF systems such as ESM, RWR, PSS, PCR and anti-radiation seekers
Experience with radar Electronic Protect (EP) modes, implementation and tradespace
Experience modeling / designing digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms
Experience with space-time processing algorithms including STAP/CSTAP/PSTAP, MUSIC, as well as adaptive digital beamforming, jam nullification and sidelobe cancellation
Experience modeling or designing interferometry-based passive detectors
Extensive experience modeling the airborne clutter environment and evaluating the success of mitigation processing mechanisms
Knowledge of adversary radar & electronic warfare systems and capabilities
Near-field antenna RF modeling experience
Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000
Salary Range 2: $114,900 - $172,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
