Description We are in search of a meticulous and dedicated Accounting Clerk to join our team located in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The primary function of this role is to accurately compute, classify, and record numerical data to maintain complete financial records. This role is in the finance industry and is a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals and ledgers or computers.

• Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.

• Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases using specialized accounting software.

• Utilize skills such as verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and critical thinking.

• Work independently and manage time effectively.

• Apply knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting.

• Utilize computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and any other related accounting software.

• Perform ad hoc financial tasks and handle financial data as required.

• Maintain accurate customer credit records and resolve customer credit inquiries.

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

• Knowledgeable about accounting software systems.

• Familiar with company policy and regulations.

• Ability to perform ad hoc financial procedures.

• Experience with invoice processing.

• Proficient in maintaining and updating databases.

• Familiarity with accounting functions and financial data.

• Experience with credit and debit transactions.

• Ability to maintain financial records and prepare financial statements.

• Knowledgeable in the use of spreadsheets for financial analysis.

• Familiarity with ledger operations and accounting procedures.

• Proficient in written communication.

• Demonstrates critical thinking capabilities.

• Familiar with 'About Time' time management software.

• Comfortable with the use of various computer programs.

• Knowledgeable in maintaining accounting functions.
