Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual short-term incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:

This position is part of the GCF Strategic Pricing Team and serves as a liaison between sales, finance, manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, and pricing to coordinate and lead GCF pricing and sales analysis.

  • The Pricing Analyst is responsible for preparing the GCF negotiation process and supporting analysis for multiple regions of the world. This role will have significant interaction with Sales Leadership.

  • Responsibilities include sales, pricing and margin analysis for negotiations, maintaining price lists, supporting the Commercial Team with RFPs (request for proposal) and RFIs (requests for information), optimizing customer mix during negotiations, reviewing and advising on price change mechanisms, organizing and supporting key negotiation kick-off calls, building customer pricing models, creating and maintaining pricing through the Pricing Approval Repository (PAR).

  • Financial and cost analysis is a key requirement of this position at both a detailed and high level. Candidates must be comfortable with detailed analysis as well as presenting the findings to senior management. Examples may include: product mix/location optimization, price change mechanism modeling, cost savings projects, and/or freight optimization.

  • The position is involved in identifying and valuing price leakage activities

  • Negotiation process facilitation, including coordinating negotiation kick-off calls and follow-up activities; performing detailed analysis and collaborating with finance, sales, customer service and supply chain to understand the mill’s capabilities and capacity; preparing and updating financial models; developing profitability summaries/analysis, as well as post bid analysis.

  • Price leakage reviews, which include monitoring pricing campaigns and ensuring price levels are accurate by customer according to customer contracts

  • Analyzing customer pricing including but not limited to identifying potential pitfalls, proposing customer changes and adjusting proposals to drive GCF value.

  • Assisting with the development of new and improved processes such as the negotiation process, pricing analysis, standardized reporting, IT projects, and contract/deal worksheet management.

  • Sales Director and Pricing Team special projects

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of financial and/or sales experience, with at least 2 years in an analytical role

  • BA in Business, Accounting, Finance or Marketing desired, post graduate degree preferred

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint including formulas such as VLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables, etc.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and oral

  • SAP experience preferred (BW, BEX Analyzer, SAP queries)
