Description We are on the lookout for a diligent Sr. Accountant to join our team in MEMPHIS, Tennessee. In this role, you will be instrumental in performing a range of accounting tasks, such as reviewing and approving international wires, handling month-end close procedures, and processing biweekly and monthly wire transfers. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and approve international wire transfers to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Oversee the process of positive pay exceptions, making decisions on approval or rejection

• Handle the approval of FUPLOAD and transfer vouchers for streamlined financial operations

• Manage month-end close procedures, including the running of reports and validation of vendor direct deposit

• Open and close accounting periods as per the financial cycle

• Maintain responsibility for check operations at the bank and banner, including void, cancel, and reissue actions

• Review and approve 941's and 1042's for tax compliance

• Approve university 990-T and financial planning budget entries

• Prepare and approve domestic and international wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Review and approve positive pay for the University, ensuring all transactions are in order.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Oracle ERP, Banner, and Review Journal Entries. Requirements • Proven experience in a similar Senior Accountant role.

• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Solid understanding and experience with general ledger operations and the month-end close process.

• Ability to prepare and review journal entries.

• Strong competency in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Oracle ERP, and Banner.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• detail oriented certification such as CPA is highly desirable.
