Job Title: Financial Control Coordinator

The Financial Reporting job family includes roles responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of operational results for external and management purposes. The roles are responsible for collecting, processing, consolidating and delivering relevant, timely and accurate Group Management and Statutory Reporting information.

Context/Scope:

Global Business Operations (GBO) is end-to-end multi-functional shared services for our markets to deliver the Diageo Performance Ambition.

Global Business Operations center works as a global network with centers located in Bangalore, Budapest, Bogotá and Manila!

The Global Financial Controllership Process Tower is the core of the Business Shared Services offering, delivering core RTR services and expanding into more valuable Financial Controlling activities.

Market Specifics: Supply MX Market.

This is one of the biggest and most sophisticated market in LAC! The market runs 6 Legal Entities including Agricultural, Manufacturing. Mexico is a Tier 1 Control and SOX Market. Agave costs for Tequila and Mezcal are under constant review and monitoring due to high volatility and GM% impact.

Accountabilities

  • Guarantee Day to day the quality, reliability and timeliness of the accounting information, validating that it is in accordance with the technical regulations, the company's policies procedures and the legal requirements.

  • Coordinate activities to publish accurate statutory financial statements under relevant Mexican GAAP and IFRS principles with quality and on time.

  • Accomplish with monthly and fiscal year closing schedules and specific projects in the finance area.

  • Coordinate the submission of all of the reports for the legal entities under the position scope, timely and with quality.

  • Support key financial controlling processes: month end and period end closes, journal entry preparation, financial statement preparation and review, KPI and data quality monitoring, adherence to CARM controls.

  • Coordinate all relevant information requested by auditors is timely and dully provided and supported to achieve outstanding results on any audit settlement.

  • Keep Process Documentation actualized and accurate

  • System tools and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years working and management experience in a multinational corporate environment, with exposure to some of the following areas: Financial and Management Accounting, Controlling & Reporting processes

  • Accounting standards (IFRS, Mexican GAAP, etc..) experience

  • Internal / external audit experience and/or SOX

  • High level of the English language (spoken and written)

  • Knowledge of ERP SAP FI

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Deeply knowledge of Microsoft applications such but no limited to Power BI, etc.

  • Excellent knowledge of both Mexican GAAP, IFSR accounting, labor and tax regulations.

  • Experience with Shared services process activities

  • Improvement in execution

  • Business experience and understanding

  • Improved senior team member management and influencing skills

  • Performance orientation and problem solving

  • Ability to handle expectations both from team and customers

  • Experience in a Shared services environment is considered as an advantage

  • Experience in audit companies (Desirable)

  • Post graduate studies in IFRS (desired)

  • Curious: Understand the big picture, explore trends and implications to see things differently.

  • Decisive: Makes decisions with speed and conviction, balancing data with common sense.

  • Simplifying: Simplifies complexity to create transparency for others.
