Job Purpose and Impact

The Junior Trader will help generate income and control risks by performing standard trading work. In this role, you will be trading physical products from the oilseeds complex both within Mexico and through import.

Key accountabilities

  • Help monitor physical trading strategies for a specific commodity, market or customer by negotiating the buying and selling of physical commodities.

  • Explore arbitrage opportunities by synthesizing data and adopting a holistic view of market driving factors

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders such as transportation and logistics, quality assurance, account managers, and credit to ensure efficient execution within trades

  • Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.

  • Research and analyze various freight opportunities in the marketplace to maximize margin opportunities

  • Reconcile profit and loss estimates and reports.

  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Advance English Level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, effective decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn with an innovative mindset
