The Air Transportation Operations Analyst, has responsibility of to supervising the operations at commercial and cargo airlines hubs and the correct processing of packages to be shipped by air Hubs and/or Mexico Fulfillment Centers. This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment.

Job responsibilities:

• Monitor the Middle Mile Routes for Air Packages to identify, address, and prevent potential issues.

• Assure that Amazon´s shipments are received, unloaded, weighted, inspected, documented, X-Ray Screening and obtain the corresponding Air Cargo Airway bill from the Commercial Cargo Airline Company.

• Attend, respond and resolve any sideline / non-conformance issue with the airline cargo company.

• Communicate all status of dispatch, side sideline / non-conformance issue, airway bill numbers and others to NOC, Air OPS Management.

• Track and trace Air flights in order to identify any delay or cancellation that could affect the delivery of packages the same day.

• Monitor the reception of packages from the Airline cargo at their facilities.

• Review the airway bill, POD the shipment and review any discrepancy related to packages shipped versus received.

• Document any damage or issue with packages received from the Airline cargo company and request a corrective action to the airline cargo company.

• Confirm the good reception of the packages by the Delivery Station and attend any issue detected after the packages were received and processed by the Delivery Station.

• Support to AIR OPS Management with Deep Dives and analysis of recurrent issues or problems in the Air Ops of their air arc.

• Conduct weekly operational calls with Airline Cargo Companies, request corrective and preventive actions to all Air Arc Network Stockholders.

• Work in a dynamic environment with an ability to empathize with and prioritize customer needs.

• Develop and support extended team for Air Operations.

Key job responsibilities

The Air Transportation Operations Analyst will manage and execute the daily shipments based on the planned volume, coordinating loads with FC´s/Sort Centers, working with ROC team to have On Time Departures and On Time Deliveries with land Carriers; Represent Amazon´s Air Management as the main POC with the Commercial Airlines that will transport our packages; including the documentation of airway bill with Airline Cargo Facilities; verify all shipments meet Airline Cargo requirements; be present at XRAY screening process, attend any side line / non-conformance event, analyze with Airline X-Ray Specialist any package issue detected, determine if side line / non – conformance package needs to be opened; depending on issue detected, make the call to return package or gaylord to origin in order to make analysis with extended team; authorize the shipment of the package if after opening the Airline X-Ray Specialist clears it, notify NOC about any issue in shipment, side line / non – conformance events, provide the airway bill number to NOC for follow up, once shipment has been accepted by Airline Cargo Team; follow up of shipments for arrival to destination; keep records of all shipments; issues, side lines / non - conformances events.

A day in the life

This is a Key Role for the AIR Program. Due to operational schedule, this position will be required to be sometimes supervising Night Shift operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of employee and performance management experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience

  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

  • Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
