Ryder System Enterprise Architect in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Enterprise Architect will be a member of the team that leads the organization in developing, maintaining and governing the Enterprise Architecture (EA) across the entire organization. This individual will be part of the team that will be assisting the organization in meeting with the business objectives with architectural analysis, insights and decisions. This individual as part of the team is also responsible for defining the EA process and for leading the integration of those processes with related business and IT processes. This person assists the organization by coming up with agile, reliable and sustainable practices and policies to govern the information technology landscape. This individual provides leadership and guidance to the development teams on architectural practices and policies. He or she will partner and collaborate with solution architects and development teams in coming with frameworks and patterns to help the organization. This individual along with his team will build strategies to develop the necessary competencies throughout the organization. This individual will work with cross functional IT teams is solving and troubleshooting architectural and design issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology or a relevant degreeMaster’s degree preferred

  • Ten (10) years or more experience in Software Development Life Cycle

  • Eight (8) years or more experience as a solution and/or enterprise architect

  • Five (5) years or more experience in creating and defining new architectural models and explaining complex problems and situations

  • Experience in architect, design, development of enterprise applications and systems

  • Understanding and familiarity of Architectural frameworks

  • Has familiarity in developing Service Oriented/Microservice and containerized based applications & services

  • Familiarity with API and middleware technologies and tools

  • Extensive experience in technical architecting and deploying distributed, high volume, mission critical business applications in a Hybrid environment (on premise & Cloud)

  • Extensive experience with leading the design and integration efforts involving complex enterprise solutions in a matrix organization

  • Experience with Microsoft.Net and JavaScript frameworks

  • Experience in creating Cloud native architecture – AWS and/or Azure

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and influencing skills with ability to effectively work at all levels of the organization; strong verbal/communication skills and presentation abilities

  • Ability to anticipate change, face reality, draw conclusions, and swiftly mobilize to adapt to changing needs and demands

  • Architecture and design patterns (expert level)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation or evolution of the enterprise architecture. Lead and facilitate the enterprise architecture strategy, vision and roadmap

  • Understand, advocate and support the enterprise’s business and IT strategy. Promote the EA process, outcomes and results to the organization, including the enterprise’s IT and business leaders

  • Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities (such as handling waivers) are associated with EA compliance. Oversee the evaluation and selection of architecture standards

  • Lead the creation of enterprise reference architecture. Document and socialize the architecture across the organization

  • Lead the analysis of the current enterprise architecture environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommends solutions for improvement

  • Provide guidance to development teams on which tools, frameworks and libraries to use for development. Consult and work with Solution Architects in the development of holistic designs

  • Oversee the documentation of all architecture design and analysis workSupport Enterprise Architecture services to the business before and during project delivery

  • Assess and communicate the value of the Enterprise Architecture

  • Aid in the development of patterns with required traceability

  • Oversee IA implementation and ongoing refinement activities

  • Performs other duties as assigned
