The department of Environmental Compliance has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Medical Compliance Specialist 1 to work at the UHealth Campus. The EOC Coordinator 1 is part of the compliance team and promotes healthcare compliance within UHealth. The incumbent is responsible for conducting research and documentation reviews of the UHealth policies, rules and regulations. This person will contribute to the success of the compliance program by strategizing compliance risk assessment, summarizing and documenting compliance related UHealth policies and procedures while maintaining accurate records of division actions and will document communication with members of the medical community, regulatory entities and any others involved in the medical enterprise.

  • Requests, tracks, compiles and organizes weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual fire safety, life safety, utilities systems, hazardous materials and waste, EM, and other EC documentation.

  • Maintains all documentation required Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) in paper and electronic format in survey ready status.

  • Develops and maintains centralized regulatory resource reference library (OSHA, NFPA, FDEP, NEC, CGA, TJC, CMS, AHCA, AAAHC, etc.)

  • Serves as a point of contact, coordinating between Environment of Care (EOC) and Quality Accreditation to provide regulatory documents and corrective action documentation.

  • Tracks, delineates findings per facility, and updates AHJ corrective action plans and notifying EOC Leadership on task completion.

  • Conducts detailed documentation reviews in support of the UHealth as per the compliance review methodology.

  • Assists in creating the annual compliance and quality plans.

  • Conducts continuous training to existing or new staff regarding current and new compliance regulations.

  • Maintains current knowledge, communicates changes and serves as an educational resource of national and local rules, documentation guidelines and compliance regulations.

  • Identifies and reports general compliance issues that may arise through the work process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree required

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form

  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office)

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
