Field Technician

Pay Rate: $15/hr.

Description:

Royal Caribbean is seeking a contractor for a Part-Time Warehouse Handler / field tech role. This person will be responsible for processing shipments, tracking and organizing IT hardware received from fleet of ships to our Weston, FL facility. . The position will help keep pallets and inventory organized by working closely with the Systems Engineer lead and other members of the IT Configuration Center logistics and warehouse teams.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of IT hardware, have previous warehouse experience and be capable of operating a forklift.

At a high-level, responsibilities for this role will include:

• Processes receiving and/or shipping transactions via a handheld barcode scanner.

• Verifies vendor paperwork against actual deliveries.

• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such hardware item IT hardware type, manufacturer, etc.

• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.

• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

• Assembles ships orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.

• Loads and unloads containers at the logistics center in accordance with procedures established by management.

• Monitors queue in ServiceNow and fulfills requests by ships for spare hardware, locating inventory in the warehouse to ship.

• Responds to email inquiries and/or MS Teams messages from Shipboard IT or IT Project managers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to verbally communicate tactfully with department heads, project managers, coworkers, shipboard IT employees and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.

• Ability to operate a fork lift and/or pallet jacks is required.

• Ability to formulate, communicate and implement technical solutions.

• Ability to document processes for both technical analysis and user support.

• Familiarity with MS Outlook, MS Teams, Excel and general knowledge of computers to communicate.

• Experience with ServiceNow and JDE is a plus.

• General IT/Infrastructure/Hardware knowledge and/or hardware/laptop repair is a plus.

• Flexible, enthusiastic attitude, capable of working independently or as a member of a team, under pressure while being able to prioritize tasks.
