DHL has an opening for a Ground Service Equipment Shop Supervisor at our MIA Hub in Miami, Florida.
As the Ground Service Equipment Shop Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of our ground support equipment (GSE) fleet. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled technicians and ensuring that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
Team Management:
Lead and supervise a team of GSE technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
Equipment Maintenance:
Plan and execute maintenance and repair schedules for GSE, including vehicles, baggage loaders, ground power units, Cargo Loaders, Generator Light Towers, PITs (Fuel, Gas & Electrical), Baggage Tractors, Push Back Tractors, Cargo Transporters, Passenger Shuttles, Golf Carts, Dollies & more.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
Inventory Management:
Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment needed for repairs and maintenance.
Ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to minimize downtime.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all GSE maintenance and repair activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
Cost Control:
Monitor and control operating expenses related to the GSE shop.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficient processes.
Reporting:
Generate reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and performance metrics.
Provide regular updates to upper management.
KPI
- Meet or exceed established goals for KPI (Key Performance Indicators). Example:
-Complete Manufacture PMs as scheduled, Maintain 98.5% On Time Rate
-Maintain 95% of GSE fleet operational at all times.
-Adapt & Establish new KPI to increase performance and reliability of GSE fleet.
Skills and Qualifications:
GSE Tech Certification / Mechanic Certification in a related field or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in GSE maintenance and repair operations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and technical skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
-Flexibility to work on-call or outside regular business hours as needed.
