MasTec Industrial Corp. Human Resources Intern in Miami, Florida

Overview Assist with day-to-day operations of the human resource functions by providing support to the HR Generalist, HRBP and management team. Confidentiality of all information is always required. Responsibilities Assist with setup, scanning and entering of all employee documentation, for new, rehires and terminations. Review to ensure accuracy and completion, follow-up with site admins and recruiters for missing documents. Maintain all employee-related files including individual personnel files and records of hires, promotions, transfers, terminations. Assist with I-9 compliance as directed. Activate/ deactivate employees and make changes to employees in UKG requested by payroll (Class, Craft, etc.) Research employee issues and assist to resolve (payroll, wages, personnel issues, etc.) Assist site administrative staff with questions on employee files and documentation requirements. Provide administrative support for all employment activities (MVR, background checks, I-9) Provide back up support for all processes: tracking and entering PCNs-wage changes, title changes and terminations, keying benefits changes, administration of anniversary and recognition awards and administration bereavement program. Understand, keep abreast of and comply with federal, state and local employment laws. Support company policies and guidelines Assist in all areas of HR and complete other duties/projects as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree (A.A.), bachelor's degree a plus, HR experience a plus KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to successfully communicate to multiple levels of the organization. Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees in a timely manner. Other may duties may be assigned. Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations. When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
