The Department of Medical Student Education has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manager, Credentialing to work in Miami, FL. The Manager, Credentialing oversees of all credentialing related functions while adhering to NCQA standards. Moreover, the incumbent directs the team to ensure all providers start on expected start date and all expiable documents are maintained and current.

  • Oversees multiple departmental functions to support contracted facilities across all divisions.

  • Manages provider onboarding process, both internally and externally.

  • Oversees process in support of contract compliance.

  • Ensures departmental guidelines support NCQA compliance.

  • Performs annual reviews on direct reports to foster development.

  • Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, and work flows for the department.

  • Implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Performs audit procedures in support of quality improvements, timelines, and accountability.

  • Develops and manages audit controls.

  • Tracks trends to promote compliance, process enhancement, and efficiency.

  • Ensures team is following all established processes and procedures, and meeting established deadlines.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of business and management principles.

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

Oversee all student credentialing and compliance functions that are part of the annual onboarding requirements for each medical school class per university and partner hospital requirements including pre-clinical and clinical requirements at both the Miami Medical Campus and the Regional Medical Campus.

  • Oversee the efforts of various curriculum and student affairs staff members who participate in the multiple components of compliance requirements. Collaborate and communicate with staff and faculty to ensure that all credentialing and compliance requirements are being met.

  • Create and monitor processes to track student demographics and compliance to ensure that all credentialing and compliance requirements are delineated, communicated, and completed within the specified deadlines.

  • Communicate with students effectively and in a timely manner, providing assistance in support of their required tasks, training, and deadlines regarding all their onboarding needs and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with individual site coordinators and risk management on tracking student compliance, completion verifications, fingerprinting, ID badges, scrubs, training and approvals within the required deadlines prior to onboarding.

  • Collaborate with other UM staff members/Program managers to avoid conflict in scheduling trainings/deadlines.

  • Create and oversee the team to assure the online site for students is current and user friendly.
