Honeywell Sr Field Service Technician in Miami, Florida

As a Senior Field Service Technician here at Honeywell, you will respond and resolve complex service calls providing technical support and troubleshooting to Honeywell customers. Additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of small service jobs, time and work material, and preventive maintenance may be assigned as well. These customers will have various products installed that fall into the – HVAC, automation controls, life safety, fire, and security systems category as well as their associated computer systems. The goal is to ensure system uptime and efficiency.

The Senior Field Service Technician will coach and mentor Associate Technical Specialists and Technical Specialists. They will demonstrate expert knowledge of Honeywell’s systems and industry best practices

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical and Job-Related Responsibilities

  • Test, calibrate verify system and peripheral devices. Testing to be performed according to all applicable standards and codes

  • Verify system functional performance to ensure proper operations according to contract requirements and shop drawings/sequence of operations, etc.

  • Perform system backups, install appropriate updates and patches

  • Complete documentation of all work done, including all readings, offsets, etc.

  • Update customer drawings/documentation with any configuration or model changes

  • Ensure all assigned preventive maintenance tasks are completed in the time allotted and the month scheduled

  • Respond to and resolve complex emergency service calls as required, in accordance with customer contract deliverables. Complex service calls include those on integrated and multi-vendor systems

  • Diagnose and perform repairs in a time-effective manner

  • Project Management of and/or participation in delivery of small service or install jobs, including but not limited to, engineering, drawings, programming, documentation, installation, management of sub-contractors, start-up, testing and customer acceptance. Coordinate with Solution Design Center or local engineer to understand scope, hardware, software, graphics and as-built details

  • Keep abreast of changes and new developments in product and preventive maintenance techniques

  • Act as a mentor to junior technicians

  • Availability for and performance of duties outside of normal working hours as required

  • Customer Management

  • Promote, build and maintain good customer relations

  • Keep supervisor informed of customer requirements, systems status, and actual, potential or perceived customer problems

  • Supply information on adds or extras to appropriate Honeywell resource e.g. Site Primary Technician, Service Job Sales Representative, Field Service Leader, etc.

  • Demonstrate system and provide training to customers as required

  • Financial Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation of job plans that cover job costs. Jobs to be completed as sold within the budgeted cost and timelines

  • Supply quotes to customers on adds and extras identified or as requested

  • Health, Safety and Statutory Compliance

  • Carry out hazard and risk assessments for all tasks according to Honeywell policy and regulatory requirements

  • Report near misses, incidents, and other opportunities for improvement

  • Administrative Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for Honeywell’s assets such as tools, proprietary software, and site database

  • Attend and complete training programs as required

  • Accurate and timely submission of all required paperwork, meet all reporting requirements

  • Other Requirements

  • Security and other clearances as required by the customer

  • Ability to travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays

  • The successful candidate must have a driving record acceptable to Honeywell

  • Physical ability to lift up-to 50lbs at times

  • On-call rotation once a month

  • This position is 100% onsite

  • Shift: 7a-4p ET

  • Company vehicle provided to travel to customer sites

  • Reports to: Sr Field Service Supervisor

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years in technically related field work in HVAC, fire, security, IT and/or electrician experience

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

WE VALUE

  • Associate’s, Technical college degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Experience with system integration, networking and software interfaces

  • Expert knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, mechanical system operation and building facilities

  • Honeywell installed systems HVAC product knowledge, a plus

  • Expert knowledge of building systems, troubleshooting, PC, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and general networking knowledge experience

  • Expert network and integration abilities to be able to work on multiple protocols like BACnet, Modbus, OPC, LON, etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams

  • Ability to train, teach, mentor and coach Associate Install Technical Specialists and Install Technical Specialists and be the go-to person for complex system installations

  • NIAGARA Certification
