SUMMARY

IDEX Health and Science a global authority in Fluidics seeks an individual for a Controller on our Inventory and Costing Team. This position will play a critical role to understand and analyze the inventory costs associated with the manufacturing processes at our four domestic Fluidic sites.

The Controller is responsible for the generation of reports and effective presentation of information to the management team, finance groups and operations team members. This role requires the ability to identify improvement opportunities and drive cost reductions, analyze and interpret general business information, and understand technical procedures and policies.

The Controller will actively partner with the Bristol and Middleboro Operations Leaders in the planning, direction, and policy implementation for the company and communicates and supports the strategic and operational plans of the sites. The Controller functions as the lead accounting professional in the plant and is responsible for ensuring strong internal controls and the accurate and timely reporting of results.

SCOPE / MANAGEMENT & INTERACTION:

The Controller reports to the Cost & Inventory Finance Manager. The Controller will manage and mentor our Senior Cost Accountant located in our Oak Harbor site. The position will collaborate with other Cost & Inventory Business Partners, other FP&A analysts and works across the Fluidics organization on standardizing Cost & Inventory functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Work with sites to forecast monthly manufacturing spend to ensure alignment to organizational goals.

• Develop forecast methodology for material variances, earned labor and burden absorption values.

• Partner with Supply Chain to forecast monthly inventory goals.

• Work with site leadership to prepare Annual Operating Plan, forecasts and requested scenarios throughout the year.

• Provides site financial analysis, and manufacturing cost analysis by:

• Ensure the application of quarterly processes such as Full Absorption, EOZ, cycle counting, and standard costing are in accordance to sound accounting theory and in line with IDEX corporate policy.

• Analyze and interpret plant performance, evaluate variances, and understand root causes for financial interpretation.

• Monitor, review and analyze daily manufacturing activities.

• Provide oversight to cost accounting process and annual standard setting process.

• Serve as a partner for cost reduction initiatives and work cross functionally with engineers, procurement, and other plant personnel.

• Year End Cost Activities:

• Direct, lead and collaborate with other key leadership to conduct the Annual Physical Inventory for our East Coast sites.

• Prepare Labor and Overhead studies and understand key drivers for rate changes.

• Analyze results of cost rolls and communicate results to the commercial teams.

• Prepare schedules required by corporate.

• Manage/mentor Senior Cost Accountant located at our Oak Harbor Site:

• Provide direction for annual goal setting.

• Coach/mentor on performance.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting and/or MBA required.

• Minimum of 8 years of finance/accounting experience that includes cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and cost accounting concepts.

• Experience with Standard Cost methodology.

• Experience with ERP systems is required, JD Edwards preferred.

• Expert skills in Excel and SAP Web Intelligence; high proficiency in OneStream and other Microsoft Office Applications, Power BI preferred.

• Self-motivated, focused, and able to identify needs and implement solutions with minimal supervision.

• Ideal candidate will have experience working with remote and global colleagues from virtual office.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $106,800.00 - $160,200.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
