Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Controls Technician - Repairs & Maintenance - Mineola. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all campus building automation systems under the direction of the Controls Engineering Manager. These systems will include but not be limited to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) systems, critical power systems, temperature, pressure and humidity systems, medical gas monitoring systems and any other facility assets that are being monitored by the building management systems installed throughout the campus.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Install DDC (Direct Digital Control) controllers, low voltage wiring and associated field devices.
    • Assist with the testing and commissioning of Building Management System (BMS) & HVAC systems.
    • Read and understand mechanical plans and wiring diagrams, coordinate work with other trades and documentation of work performed.
    • Troubleshoot electronic and automated instrumentation and controls.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED required. Minimum 5 years building management system work experience with a verified ability to work in electronics and industrial instrumentation on systems such as Siemens, Tridium Niagara AX, Johnson Controls, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
Appropriate Trade/Vocation School preferred. Associate Degree in electronics, industrial instrumentation or an engineering field that was obtained from an accredited educational institution. Niagara AX Certificate. Distech Controls 5001 Certificate. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of building automation communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, Niagara AX, Distech Controls, Carrier CCN and experience with various other control lines (Johnson N2 and Siemens experience a plus).

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $83,779.89 - $93,616.73 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
