This role will primarily work with our Energy & Utility clients across a portfolio of major generation, transmission and distribution capital projects.
The Senior Project Controls (Schedule) is accountable for the development, management, update, and analysis of project schedules for a large capital project or portfolio of capital projects. This is a contract position for a long-term multi-year engagement.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Assist project managers and other team members with preparing and maintaining project schedules.
Completes initial setup of large projects for all aspects of project controls.
Develops or contributes to an integrated schedule by project phase for reporting on the progress of the entire portfolio of projects at the project review meeting.
Supports the scheduling process by participating in weekly meetings and maintaining and reporting on the status and readiness of work orders being processed.
Supports project managers by assessing the reporting on fieldwork associated with assigned projects during their implementation phase. This includes assessing and identifying improvement opportunities in safety, risk reduction and human performance improvement opportunities.
Maintains a thorough, current knowledge of new and innovative techniques in the project planning, scheduling, and cost estimating fields.
Promotes standard project practices throughout the business areas.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
Minimum 7 years of experience
Advanced Primavera P6 experience
Advanced critical path method (CPM) scheduling capabilities including creating and managing complex, resource-loaded schedules: setting up project calendars, defining work breakdown structures (WBS), assigning resources, and establishing and analyzing critical paths.
Ability to establish and manage project baselines, track schedule performance, and manage/track baseline changes within P6.
Has performed risk analysis on project schedules and identify potential delays, bottlenecks, and risks that cause impact
Able to diagnose schedule issues, e.g. construction or procurement delays, and develop corrective actions to keep the project on track.
