This position will work within relevant evaluation-related software, implement and adapt evaluation instruments, communicate with faculty, and complete Annual Course Reviews (ACRs) as required. The individual in this position will also assist with various other program evaluation efforts, such as survey development and administration, development of dashboards and reports, and contributions to continuous quality improvement as appropriate. The individual in this position will work with processes that affect the Twin Cities, Duluth and St. Cloud campuses of the University of Minnesota Medical School. The individual will be a member of the Assessment and Evaluation team and report to the Manager of Evaluation and Analytics. Responsibilities Evaluation Operations (60%) Collaborate with course and clerkship faculty, and UME leadership on development and delivery of evaluations Operate course evaluation software, including adapting instruments as required Adhere to a detailed calendar of requirements, ensuring that evaluations are finalized and delivered accurately in a timely manner Complete Annual Course Reviews (ACRs) as required. Includes collating quantitative data from various sources and analyzing qualitative data to generate themes Collaborate with other UME departments and/or leadership to design and administer surveys Depending on current workload and available assistance, provide indirect supervision of other employees, such as student interns, in updating data and reports Serve as contact point for evaluation data and report requests from various stakeholders Serve as a consultant and trainer to course directors (i.e., faculty) and course coordinators, as appropriate Assist with and serve as backup for the development and implementation of online exam software Maintain and create processes/work-flows along with any associated documentation Collaborate with data analysts from the Health Sciences Technology team to develop effective dashboards to display data for various audiences Continuously evaluate systems and procedures to make recommendations for changes and improvements. Communicate with other medical school staff members to increase efficiency around the use of data and adaptation to new procedures and policies Software Implementation (20%) Manage implementation efforts for both vendor and homegrown software features such as MEDtrics and technology-related projects Mentor less experienced staff, providing procedural and technical guidance Technical Support (20%) Collaborate with IT teams as well as with business users to solve and resolve issues Conduct usability testing to ensure user experience satisfaction, be aware of malfunctions or lack thereof, and generate innovative solutions Stay current with software development tools, trends, best practices, and emerging technologies Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications BA/BS degree in education, psychology or related field Two years of relevant work experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years High level of attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions Ability to learn and successfully operate software systems and applications Experience collecting and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data Preferred Qualifications Master's or PhD degree in education, psychology or related field Training or experience in higher education administration, educational evaluation and measurement, and/or institutional research and Exper ence working in medical education or other health professions education Experience administering and analyzing evaluation data Training or experience in software related to statistical analysis, data analysis/visualization, and/or survey administration, such as Qualtrics or Tableau High level of interpersonal and communication skills Ability to understand data needs, analyze data to recognize anomalies, and suggest corrective actions when issues with data occur Proficiency in the utilization of database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel Experience working with faculty in a higher education context Experience providing technical and/or customer support for software applications and systems About the Department Committed to innovation and diversity, the Medical School educates physicians, scientists, and health professionals; generates knowledge and treatments; and cares for patients and communities with compassion and respect.
