This postdoctoral researcher will participate in grant-funded research project(s) in the areas of networking, edge systems and AI support for cooperative autonomous driving and tele-operations of autonomous vehicles. Under the primary supervision of Prof. Zhi-Li Zhang, the postdoctoral researcher is expected to work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers and Ph.D students from Department of Computer Science & Engineering as well as other departments such as Mechanical Engineering. Duties/Responsibilities: (40%) Research in networking, edge systems and AI support for AV tele-operations (40%) Participating and leading the system development and implementation of an AV tele-operation platform. (20%) Dissemination via articles, conference presentations Qualifications Required Qualifications: PhD in computer science, or a field related to computational sciences. Must have a strong background in computer vision, artificial intelligence (AI), and/or wireless networking and systems, and related fields. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those applicants with strong experiences in AI-based autonomous vehicle (AV) research and development such as LiDAR, camera data fusion, localization, 3D mapping, and AV (remote) control.
