Job ID357410 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyAcademic Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9546 Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job Dr. Brenden Tervo-Clemmens research group in the Department of Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division, and Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate. The Postdoc (doctoral-level background and training in neuroscience, psychology, engineering, computer science, genomics or related disciplines) will contribute to studies linking non-invasive brain imaging (fMRI, MRI) to mental health and substance use outcomes in large, publicly available datasets (e.g., Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study: ABCD, Human Connectome Project: HCP, UK Biobank). A particular focus of the group, and area of best fit for potential candidates, seeks to apply meta-analytic, psychometric, and quantitative methods approaches to the assessment of individual differences in neuroimaging to understand their reliability, reproducibility with links to mental health phenotypes, and ultimately work towards improved clinical utility. Experience with neuroimaging, longitudinal and/or multivariate statistics, or other high-dimensional data analysis and relevant software and programming experience are required. Opportunities for contribution to additional precision neuroimaging studies of adolescent development, mental health, and substance use disorders will also be available. Candidates will join the multidisciplinary and multidepartment Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain with on-site expertise spanning developmental and clinical neuroscience, bioinformatics, and data analytics and have access to the broader University of Minnesota neuroimaging, high performance computing, and mental health research communities. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Required Qualifications (used to screen centrally): *Doctoral Degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Genomics, or related discipline *Experience with analysis and processing of functional (e.g., fMRI) or structural brain imaging (i.e. MRI) data *Experience with high dimensional (e.g., brain imaging, genomics) and/or longitudinal statistics. *Programming proficiency in MATLAB, python, and/or R *Prior experience with manuscript and/or poster preparation Preferred Qualifications: *Background and training in meta-science/meta-analytic approaches, psychometrics, quantitative psychology. *Experience with data from mental health symptoms, neurocognitive testing, or ambulatory assessment (e.g., EMA, passive sensing). *Experience with data simulation *Command line proficiency *Experience with high performance computing About the Department The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences consists of an outstanding team of researchers, clinicians, and educators who provide world-class expertise in psychiatric illness, treatment, scholarship, and scientific discovery.
