Job ID360856 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch-Researchers Full/Part TimePart-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code8352R2 Employee ClassCivil Service About the Job The Wang Lab in the department of diagnostic and biological sciences is seeking a part-time 45% effort Research Lab Manager to lead all aspects of the daily operations within the lab. Job duties: * Assist with research projects. (60%) * Assist in designing research projects. * Independently plan and perform complex, multi-step experimental analyses. * Perform experiments and analyze results. * Provide presentations reporting data and scientific findings. * Lab management, including inventory management. (40%) * Lab sample sorting, and manage lab chemical records, etc. * Prepare labs by purchasing appropriate equipment and supplies. * General support of and assistance with lab group operations. This includes lab common reagent/buffer preparation, sterilization, meeting scheduling, data analysis, new lab member orientation etc. * Oversee the use of laboratory equipment, training personnel/volunteers and maintaining equipment as needed. * Maintain records of data per protocol requirements * Attend lab meetings for all labs * Troubleshoot lab and technology issues Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required qualifications: * BS/BA and at least one year of related experience managing a lab, or combination of education and work experience to equal five years.
