Duties/responsibilities include writing papers (50%), literature review (20%); data analysis (20%); and implementation of experiments and data management (10%). Job Responsibilities: Writing research project proposals and papers (50% time) Write research papers utilizing existing research on learned helplessness, anhedonia, and depression, including: * incorporating feedback from PI; * submitting papers for review and publication; * replying to and addressing reviewer comments; and, * preparing resubmissions. Literature Review (20%) Complete literature reviews for use in research project and paper proposals, including: * searching for relevant articles; * summarizing research on relevant topics, including learned helplessness, anhedonia, depression. Data Analysis (20%) Analyze data for use in research project and paper proposals, including: * programming and conducting statistical analyses using computer programs (e.g. R and Python). Implement and manage experiments and data (10%) Implement experiments and manage data collected, including: * generating computer code to run the experiments, modifying code as needed for online experiments; * developing and implementing questionnaires via Qualtrics; and, * deidentifying, formatting, and organizing data for analysis, as needed. Qualifications Required Qualifications: - BA/BS degree in Psychology, neuroscience, or a related field, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years. - Quantitative training - strong interest in learning more about experimental and computational approaches to cognitive neuroscience and psychiatry. - Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills - Previous experience with the learned helplessness task, anhedonia research, and depression research Preferred Qualifications: - PhD in a relevant field - Excellent writing skills - Previous relevant research experience About the Department About the Department of Psychology The Department of Psychology is one of the largest departments within the College of Liberal Arts, and is a highly ranked department nationally.
