This position will provide support and resources to research division faculty and staff in the DFMCH, assist with pre-award grant activities, and work closely with the Senior Research Manager to plan and implement research initiatives, and provide operational support to faculty and staff. Job Responsibilities: 30% Research Faculty and Staff Support: Assist with development of robust onboarding and training of new research staff. Participate in onboarding and training of new research staff. Provide updates and job aids for research faculty and staff whenever a new process or system is rolled out. Provide study monitoring and training to ensure compliance with regulatory and financial requirements. Serve as the expert in Medical School research systems, i.e. OnCore, ETHOS, e-binders, Tiger Connect, etc. Serve as the point person for the faculty and staff in the division, researching answers to questions as well as policies and procedures; serve as a resource for planning and best practices. 25% Research Operational Support: Coordinate with Department finance, Office of General Counsel, Health Science Technology, and the Privacy Office to ensure appropriate process is followed and faculty needs are met when purchasing software and other services. Develop and oversee administrative and operational workflow and processes for assigned programs/centers/projects. Support practice-based research network and research services where needed. 25% Pre-Award Support Activities: Assist with coordination of grant submissions for principal investigators, including collection of biosketches, financial disclosures, and other documents, formatting requisite grant proposal components per program announcement guidelines and adhere to strict proposal deadlines. Stay current with NIH and other sponsors policies. Provide backup capacity for coordinating grant application submission to Sponsored Projects Administration. In collaboration with pre-award grant coordinator, create budgets for internal and external grant proposals. Create and update a central repository of grant opportunities for faculty. 20% Special Projects: Assist Senior Research Manager with implementing special projects, including short-, medium-, and long-term vision and plans for the Research Division. Work with communications to disseminate research news and highlight research accomplishments. Expected Starting Salary Range: Mid $60's depending on qualifications and experience. Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required Qualifications: BA/BS with at least 4-years of research experience or an advanced degree plus 2-years of research experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 8 years. Demonstrated ability to lead projects, set and maintain deadlines and prioritize assignments. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Experience with clinical or social/behavioral research. Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Must be organized and meet deadlines. Work independently and part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in relevant field. Experience with NIH-research. Experience with supporting grant and contracts. Experience with OnCore, ETHOS, MN-GEMS, and other University systems. Ability to use project management software to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision. Knowledge of informed consent process and adverse event reporting. Management of clinical trials from initiation to end. Lead project teams, committees, and/or other collaborative efforts. Troubleshoots and resolves problems independently and contributes to discussions on research study.
