Apply for Job Job ID361504 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch-Researchers Full/Part TimePart-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code8352R1 Employee ClassCivil Service Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job About the Job Job Duties and Responsibilities (These examples do not include all possible tasks in this work and do not limit the assignment of related tasks.) 60% Laboratory Coordination * Oversee operation of lab space, including regular cleaning, placing orders, maintenance of shared equipment. * Maintain regulatory and compliance policies including IACUC, RAR, and lab safety protocols. * Communicate with Building Management and Facilities as necessary to report infrastructure needs and issues. * Coordinate with other MDTA labs on floor on shared spaces and equipment. * Attend weekly lab meetings and updates. 40% Research support * Conduct laboratory procedures with mice and rats based on written protocols or oral instruction from PI or other senior researchers, using behavioral neuroscience methods. * Assist in preparation for and performance of animal surgeries and histology. * Maintain investigator-managed housing, including ordering housing supplies, daily health and room checks, and weekly cage changes. * Data management and analysis and assistance in the preparation of data for manuscripts and grants. Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree with a major in a biomedical science (Neuroscience, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant research experience to equal four years. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google suite of apps. * Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas to lab team members. * Ability to work effectively with colleagues from different departments or areas of expertise to achieve common objectives. Preferred Qualifications: * At least one year of research experience. * Previous experience working in neuroscience or biology laboratory is recommended. * Experience with rodent husbandry.
