Impact Lab: Problem Solving - Students learn strategies to identify, understand, and solve real-world problems through case studies, simulations, and a clear problem-solving framework. They develop skills in leadership, teamwork, and creative solution development. Impact Lab: In Action - Student teams partner with businesses, nonprofits, or social enterprises to solve actual challenges, gaining experience navigating ambiguity while making a tangible impact. Position Summary As a Senior Lecturer in the Carlson Impact Lab, you will play a vital role in developing students' problem-solving prowess. We seek a dynamic, innovative educator passionate about teaching methodologies that inspire inquiry and creativity. Duties & Responsibilities Teach 24 credits in-person, spanning the two Impact Lab courses during the academic year Design experiential learning activities, simulations, and real-world projects aligned with the program's goals Utilize a variety of instructional methods and technologies to enhance student learning outcomes Foster an inclusive environment encouraging diverse perspectives and active engagement Employment Details This is a non-tenure track Academic Professional/Administrative position for a nine month academic year. Subsequent renewals, if any, will be on a nine month academic calendar, dependent upon annual performance reviews and funding availability. The salary range for a Lecturer with at least five years of combined industry and collegiate teaching experience is $85,000 to $90,000. The salary range for a Senior Lecturer with at least 15 years of combined industry and collegiate teaching experience is $95,000 to $100,000. Qualifications Required Qualifications Lecturer Requirements: Terminal degree OR Master's degree plus five years of related industry and/or academic experience Senior Lecturer Requirements: Terminal degree OR Master's degree plus fifteen years of related industry and/or academic experience Demonstrated excellence in university instruction Excellent communication abilities Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants with substantial University-level teaching experience and demonstrated success in teaching at the Carlson School or peer institutions. Ideal candidates will also have relevant industry experience in startups, consulting, project management, or other fields using problem-solving to navigate ambiguous projects. Master's degree plus 15 years of combined related industry and collegiate teaching experience. Teaching experience in higher education with a strong record of student evaluations of teaching. Knowledge of current pedagogical practices and willingness to integrate technology into teaching.
