Accountant I Overview
Assist in managing and administering First Western Bank and Trusts accounting system to ensure efficient financial records management as well as prepare financial statements and reports.
- Assist in preparation of the Banks monthly financial statements and variance reports
- Assist in preparation/completion of Call Reports
- Assist in preparation of budgets
- Complete FHLB (Federal Home Loan Bank) borrowing base certificates for pledging
- Assist with completion of bond purchase reports, bond accounting and bond pledging
- Manage sweep repurchases to include daily confirmations, pledging and required disclosures
- Assist with processing of CD interest checks and escheat items
- Perform daily cash management
- Perform daily reconciliation of the Banks general ledger accounts
- Prepare other reconciliations and reports as required
- Process and reconcile prepaids
- Accounts payable processing, including scanning and indexing
Accountant I Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting required
- Knowledge of accounting principles, analysis, and financial statement preparation
Accountant I Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrate sound judgment skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel spreadsheets
