Memorial Healthcare System Representative - Collections: MPG - Business Office in Miramar, Florida
Uses a variety of collection techniques to collect outstanding balances on patient accounts.
Locates and notifies responsible parties of delinquent accounts by mail and/or phone to solicit payment.
Collects payments from state and federal agencies, commercial insurance companies, third party organizations and other responsible parties and posts payments to proper accounts. Enters adjustments to accounts as appropriate.
Contacts appropriate organizations to identify and resolve account collection problems for maximum collection results. Initiates payment plans with responsible parties or refers to collection agency.
Maintains record of collections activities and status of accounts. Prepares letters and reports as required or requested.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE FOLLOW-UP: Resolves denials of payment and incorrect payments from insurance carriers.
BILLING: Processes accurate payor claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
COLLECTION ACTIVITY: Collects and adjusts past due balances.
ACCURACY: Completes work assignments within established quality and/or quantity standards.
ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING: Uses decision making processes and tools to analyze situations and make effective decisions.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required to type 35 wpm.
