Position Schedule: Full-Time

Branch Team Optimization (BTO) - Canada exists to lead Edward Jones Canada (EJCA) in optimizing the growth of impact of our Branch Teams as they start, build and finish a successful human centered Edward Jones practice, ultimately leaving a legacy. We will be successful if we provide opportunities to give Financial Advisors choice on how to grow their practices so that they can serve the unique needs of their ideal clients, accelerate their growth of impact and more fully participate in the Edward Jones opportunity.

The BTO Consultant must be adaptable, willing to champion change and innovation and have a collaborative spirit. They will work with the field and departments across home office to support the evolution of branch teams and branch team roles.

  • The BTO Consultant ensures Edward Jones provides the support necessary for branch teams entering new branch team configurations (e.g.Office Share, RBA, FA Teaming, etc.) to help them optimize their practices, team dynamics, and operational excellence. Regular activities would include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and iterating coaching and development resources to optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) and team dynamics for new branch team configurations.

  • Coaching branch teams towards optimization in their new branch team configurations.

  • Gathering feedback and working with departments across the firm to resolve issues and implement new ideas to support the branch team evolution.

  • Responsible for end to end process to transition BOAs to CES role, including vetting candidate, employment letter, processes salary change in partnership with BOATA and HR Compensation.

  • The BTO Consultant works with many home office departments and the field to support the creation and implementation of new branch team support roles (registered and unregistered) for the Canada Business Unit. Regular activities would include but are not limited to:

  • Establishing the purpose and responsibilities of potential new roles, gathering and synthesizing data and insights to substantiate the business need.

  • Identifying and implementing system requirements, in concert with other subject matter experts and teams, to facilitate the new role.

  • Introducing the new role and incorporating the role into existing firm practices.

  • Evaluating the functionality and impact of the new roles, ensuring they continue to be relevant and valuable.

  • Integrating the new role into the firm's ways of working with existing functional teams (e.g. talent acquisition, compensation, rewards and recognition, branch-level systems, etc.)

The BTO Consultant may work on additional projects and tasks, as assigned, to support the evolution of branch teams and branch team roles.

The BTO Consultant will build and maintain partnerships with associates and leaders in areas across the firm (i.e., Branch Real Estate, CST Talent Acquisition, Service, Finance, Client Transition, system product owners, research/insights) etc. They will stay abreast of the firm's developments in practice management, leadership development, real estate, hiring, training resources and incorporate them into the branch team optimization portfolio of work.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Project management expertise (proven experience), including a strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once.

  • Understand the work, responsibilities, and expectations of the Financial Advisor and Client Support Team positions in the Edward Jones branch model.

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of Edward Jones branch teamwork flows and standard operating procedures, and the corresponding home office and/or regional support systems.

  • Three (3) plus years' experience coaching and consulting; aware of team dynamics, business management and practice management.

  • Communication and presentations skills, including ability to provide positive motivation and encouragement to branch teams.

  • Ability to handle challenging and/or sensitive conversations in a professional and confidential manner and know when to get others involved.

  • Knowledge of the Edward Jones training classes, business development tools, the range of solutions offered by the firm, compensation and expense policies for Financial Advisors and Client Support Team professionals, the P&L Statement and all compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Requires the ability to anticipate challenges or potential problems with business plan execution, strategy, and resource needs.

  • Interprets complex data from multiple sources and uses judgment to provide recommendations.

  • Demonstrates ability to identify gaps, offer solutions to gaps, and execute solutions to fill gaps (through self and others).
