The opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists in our Capital Projects team within our Oil, Gas & Power division. The Aggregate Production Supervisor is responsible for production and overseeing maintenance on various aggregate production equipment at our Moa, Cuba site. This equipment includes two Mcclosky C2 crushers, an S130 Screener, stackers and auxiliary equipment used in conjunction to provide aggregates for construction of a tailing’s facility.

This role is based in Moa, Cuba on a rotational schedule of 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off: 12 hours per day, 6 days per week.

In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Continuously monitor the operation of all equipment using control systems recordings, indicators and visual inspections, as needed.

  • Supervising team members and collaborating with Lab Technicians.

  • Ensuring the production of a consistent and quality product by collaborating with the Quality Control department and reviewing laboratory test results.

  • Implementing corrective actions, as needed, and providing the team with recommended solutions for production issues.

  • Training and mentoring local Cuban team members on production and maintenance processes.

  • Assisting in the development of the maintenance program and control spare parts inventory.

  • Ensuring regular inspection and evaluation of all operating equipment to maintain production requirements.

  • Collaborating with the leadership team to optimize production procedures.

  • Monitoring and managing project-related expenses to stay within budget, while actively seeking opportunities to reduce operational, maintenance and repair costs.

  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of designated work areas.

  • Participating and coordinating in Team meetings.

  • Maintaining effective communication with Technicians and Contractors to ensure timely and efficient job completion, clear issue resolution, and thorough documentation processes at site.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in either crushing, screening, or mining.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Completion of the Millwright Apprenticeship Program is an asset.

  • Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques to maximize production.

  • A strong commitment to safety and fosters a safety-first culture. Demonstrates dedication to communicating, enhancing, and following health, safety, and environmental policies across all work environments.

  • Strong computer and data entry skills, and strong attention to detail for the production of reports and KPIs.

  • Familiarity with McClosky crushing equipment is considered an asset.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish is considered an asset.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand and power tools are considered an asset.

  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
