Brabner & Hollon, Inc is seeking to hire an experienced Carpenter/Installer who is responsible for the installation of doors, frames, and builders’ hardware in the commercial construction industry. The Carpenter/Installer will be provided with the necessary tools, safety equipment, vehicle/transportation, and per diem for all non-local jobsites. The Carpenter/Installer must be able to troubleshoot, work with minimal supervision, and have great attention to detail. This position will require a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. We are hiring both Experienced Installers or Trainees!
Essential Functions
• Install doors, frames and builders’ hardware at the end user or new commercial construction site.
• Works independently and with other installers to install Division 8/10 products as assigned and trained
• Receive, understand, and execute work orders
• Follows manufacturer direction and warranty requirements when installing products. Follows specifications for the adjustment or replacement of existing material, installation of new material and disassemble and removal of material.
• Operate various power hand tools both safely and skillfully.
• Provides quality customer service professionally, with friendly customer service, good written and verbal skills.
• Must be flexible to accommodate various work hours, based on site requirements. Occasional travel will be required within this position .
• All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience; Trade School Preferred
• Some installation experience with doors, frames, and hardware products, or Division 10 products
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test. Must have Valid Driver’s License with good record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to read and understand specifications, installation instructions, wiring diagrams and blueprints are required. Has the knowledge and understanding on the use of a measuring tape, level, and other required tools for installation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
• Excellent written and verbal skill required with the ability to communicate and understand detailed instructions. Detailed oriented team player; has the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a face paced work environment.
Physical Demands
Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 50-80 pounds.
Work Environment
May require driving to project sites. May be exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker is subject to frequent heavy lifting.
