Aerotek Travel Welder in Mobile, Alabama

TRAVEL WELDER NEEDED IN HUNTSVILLE, AL! INCONEL TIG WELDING

PAY RATE $35-40 AN HR WITH FULL 7 DAY PER DIEM

JOB DUTIES:

  • Performs welding processes on aluminum, steel, Inconel, and alloy parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys and precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation.

  • Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.

  • Uses electrical currents or friction to create heat and bond metals.

  • Observes tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.

  • Set up and operate large, motion-controlled machines to create friction stir welds on launch vehicles.

  • Perform periodic maintenance on machines with complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches.

  • Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety.

  • Knowledgeable in the use of 3-D CAD tools (CREO is preferred), and ability to read and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.

  • Knowledge of drawing review, scheduling and work order systems, inventory, and various issue tracking systems-TIG welding aerospace stainless steel and inconel hardware, using manual and/or automatic equipment.

  • Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts.

  • Perform Strip Welding and Installation on Flight Hardware.

Validated experience with DC- and AC-TIG welding of aerospace stainless steels and aluminum, inconel alloys.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
