ASSA ABLOY’s Accessories Division is seeking to hire a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team located in its Monroe, NC facility. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting various brands within the Accessories Group Division.

This position is a fully onsite role in our Monroe, NC facility.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries with precision and attention to detail

  • Support Accounts Payable activities by GL Coding invoices

  • Assist in the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain financial accuracy

  • Prepare and analyze sales and use tax returns

  • Contribute to special projects as an active team member, offering your financial expertise

  • Assess and recommend improvements to day-to-day procedures and controls

  • Respond promptly to ad hoc requests for information and reports

  • Thrive in a team environment, working collaboratively to achieve common goals

  • Demonstrate commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.

  • 2-3 years of professional work experience supporting financial and accounting initiatives is preferred; however, a recent college grad with the passion to learn and put their education to work will strongly be considered

  • Strong technical acumen using MS Excel: v-lookups, pivots, and macros.

  • Proficiency in working with different systems to retrieve and analyze data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners.

  • Limited travel with a potential of up to 5% if necessary (domestic).

    Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Power BI, Business Objects, JD Edwards, and/or Oracle SmartView/Hyperion is a plus, but we can train you!

  • Our ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting and be motivated to grow with our global organization

  • Knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with GAAP
