UPMC East is currently hiring a regular, fulltime Invasive Cardiac Technologist to primarily work four 10-hour shifts, Monday thru Friday. The position will also have rotating on-call responsibility for nights and weekends.

Purpose:

In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, provides technical expertise to multiple business units. Functions as a resource to staff to provide orientation, continuing education and protocol development.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and implements new training programs, when applicable. Leads cross training program between facilities and assists with the startup of new programs. Includes effective communications with management and physician leadership at each facility.

  • Attends advanced training sessions and seminars in order to develop and execute education plan.

  • Assist with accreditation responsibilities.

  • Assumes leadership role in training staff on new equipment and supplies.

  • Serves as a technical resource to staff members on a daily operational basis. Assist technologists with board reviews and participates in staff performance reviews.

  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS).

  • 3 years of experience in invasive cardiology, vascular and/or electrophysiology.

  • Previous teaching experience preferred

  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.

  • ACLS Required within 1 year of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 34
