Xylem Senior, Internal Audit- Europe in Montecchio Maggiore, Italy

THE ROLE:

For our Global Internal Audit group in Italy we are seeking an experienced Senior Internal Auditor EU , this role will be offered on a hybrid working basis with high visibility within the Europe organization.

The Senior Internal Auditor assists with the development of work plans and execution of various internal audits. Based on a firm understanding of auditing standards, conducts various reviews to ensure the organization’s compliance with established policies and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) requirements.

With appropriate guidance and supervision, the Senior Internal Auditor performs professional audits of the assigned auditable areas as defined in the audit universe for all units within this Regional Audit Group’s area of responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and execute the various internal audit and compliance initiatives through all the audit phases to ensure that our business operations are in compliance with auditing and accounting standards.

  • Key responsibilities include review of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOA) site/accounting controls, assessment of control design, recommending control design improvements where applicable, testing operating effectiveness of key controls and thorough completion of all work-paper testing and test plans. Other Compliance reviews include an assessment of Anti-Corruption practices in accordance with Corporate policies and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

  • Planning aspects include risk assessment procedures to scope and develop the work plans in accordance with department objectives and Xylem policies.

  • Fieldwork responsibilities include ensuring work-papers are complete and audits are delivered on a timely basis. The Position acts as a key interface with site management and will work closely with the other regional IA team members.

  • Reporting includes drafting audit reports, recommending action plans and following through to ensure findings have been remediated in line with action plans. Ability to write concise internal audit reports, and highly knowledgeable on use of the Microsoft suite of products and a well-rounded understanding of data analytics.

  • Participate in the annual regional risk assessment process and support in the development of the Audit Plan.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or Accounting is required. Professional designation (CPA, CIA, CFE, or equivalent) is preferred.

  • 5-6 years of combined audit experience in internal and external audit with a minimum of 3 years of financial and operational internal audit experience.

  • Managerial and project management experience preferred. Ability to meet required deadlines is essential and to juggle multiple projects at the same time.

  • Experience working with Sarbanes Oxley controls.

  • Strong English communication skills, including written and spoken , Italian will be a plus.

TRAVEL : up to 25% with travel within the Europe region, occasional travel to the rest of the world.

CONTRACT : Permanent, Hybrid ( 2 days of smart working)
