The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Contract Management Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) – Defence & Security Canada and will act as a subject matter expert in commercial management for a multi-billion-dollar bid A competitive process is currently underway to find the next qualified supplier for FAcT. https://skyalyne.ca/future-aircrew-training-canada/.

The candidate, in his or her capacity as Contact Manager, will act as an integrated member of the FAcT program team which comprises of teammates within program management, technical integration leads and various business functions, as well as external stakeholders throughout Canada and internationally. The candidate will ensure alignment with CAE global policy and standards, as well as legal compliance.

In collaboration with other business functions, especially legal, finance, program management and technical integration leads, the candidate, as a Contract Manager, will oversee the development and execution of a commercial management strategic vision for the FAcT program, including leading and conducting contract negotiations and administration in compliance with the FAcT strategic plan and developing and maintaining excellent relationships with customer and subcontractor stakeholders. He or she will develop and/or improve existing processes and procedures, as needed, supported by the necessary training and follow-up actions. The candidate will employ emotional and strategic intelligence in ensuring that all measures taken contribute to the achievement of our vision to be the Training Partner of Choice and the success of the FAcT program. Are you ready to:

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide expert contractual advice, guidance and support to the execution team;

  • Negotiate and draft contractual documents such as agreements, amendments, restructurings, correspondence and notices.

  • Develop, communicate and execute strategies and objectives for the commercial and contract management for the program

  • Achieve contractual commitments and provide visibility to management on commercial issues of the program

  • Provide oversight and management of contractual issues arising during program execution;

  • Proactively ensure that contract risks are evaluated, assessed with solutions and brought to management's attention for resolution

  • Drive continuous improvement and support current business transformation

  • Develop and maintain great relationships with the customer and subcontractor key stakeholders

  • Expertly use legal, commercial and business principles to develop and enforce contract obligations

  • Act as the contract subject matter expert to internal integrated stakeholders and provide guidance to the FAcT Leadership

  • Participate in customer/subcontractor meetings as well as departmental and program reviews;

    Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in in Law, Commerce or Business Administration or equivalent

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience

  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills French and English (verbal and written)

  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of contracts and/or law;

  • Excellent administration and organizational skills;

  • Capacity to operate at strategic and tactical levels

  • Results –driven and attentive to detail

  • Customer focused, takes initiate and leads with agility

  • Collaborates with the different teams

  • Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Good Clearance.

  • Eligible to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit.

  • General knowledge of the Canadian Defence and Security procurement, an asset
