Job Description

Purpose of the Position/Responsibilities - Summary:

Supporting role in managing health and safety, with a focus on continuously improving functionality and service levels.

Specific Tasks/Primary Activities - Essential Functions:

Participation in HUDDLE activities across all departments and facilitating communication for workplace improvement. Developing a Machine Safety Assessment in compliance with the Machine Directive and related standards (SAT, URS, etc.), as well as planning and strategizing work systems to reduce health and safety risks, such as recommending suitable adaptations to machinery and processes. Ensuring weekly updates on health and safety statistics for all departments. Supporting business change through effective change management processes related to machinery and production. Reviewing activities related to machines/equipment and processes. Planning Process Standardization (Operational Efficiency) for high-risk activities like LOTO, confined spaces, work at heights, and machine safety. Conducting workplace safety assessments in compliance with Italian regulations (D.Lgs 81/2008) and developing an Improvement Plan to eliminate and reduce identified risks. Coordinating the Emergency Response Team and providing training. Supporting the Incident Management & Investigation process to identify Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs). Supporting technical training as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Relationships - Internal:

All site functions (e.g., Engineering, Maintenance, Production, QA/QC, and HR). EHS & Facility teams.

External:

Consultants.

Requirements and Qualifications - Competencies and Certifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in product health and safety compliance regulations. Degree-level education and/or relevant qualifications: significant experience in health and safety. Flexible approach to work, managing priorities and workload effectively. Ability to work well in teams. Strong communication and influencing skills, comfortable communicating across all levels within a large organization. Proven track record of supporting significant change within operations. Proficiency in English language. Leadership Skills:

Ability to determine when issues should be escalated to a higher level. Acts as a change agent to support improvements in health and safety. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to motivate others.

Desirable:

English language training. Training in specific Machine Directive and Site Acceptance Test, User Requirement Specification. Demonstrated success in progressive leadership roles. Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation. Demonstrated commitment to fundamental principles of Integrity, Respect, & Excellence.
